Introducing Suvir Venkataraman: AgPlus Diagnostics’ New Chief Development Officer

AgPlus Diagnostics is thrilled to announce the appointment of Suvir Venkataraman as Chief Development Officer. With a passion for innovation and a commitment to improving healthcare outcomes, Suvir brings a wealth of experience to the field of diagnostics. His strategic vision and innovative mindset will undoubtedly drive AgPlus Diagnostics towards new heights of success.

Suvir’s journey in diagnostics began with a strong academic foundation, culminating in a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Imperial College, London, where he graduated in the top 5% of his class. He furthered his education with a PhD in bioengineering from The California Institute of Technology, USA. Armed with this impressive academic background, Suvir embarked on a career dedicated to bridging the gap between technology and healthcare.

Throughout his career, Suvir has demonstrated a remarkable ability to leverage his engineering expertise to create practical and effective solutions in the field of diagnostics. His innovative approach has earned him recognition as a leader in the industry, making him the perfect fit to lead the development efforts at AgPlus Diagnostics.

At AgPlus, Suvir will be spearheading the development of the Agilis Platform, our ground-breaking technology designed to revolutionise diagnostic testing. The Agilis Reader represents a significant step forward in diagnostic capabilities, offering faster, portable, and more accurate results that empower healthcare professionals to make informed decisions with confidence.

The final development stages of the Agilis Platform are now being handled in collaboration with PA Consulting, the leading global innovation and transformation consultancy. This partnership brings together the expertise of both organizations to create a truly game-changing product that will set new standards in the field of diagnostics.

The aim of this partnership is to develop a minimum viable product—an advanced prototype that AgPlus can take to market quickly. This advanced prototype will accommodate an existing HNL Assay developed in collaboration with Diagnostics Development (https://diagnosticsdevelopment.com), who are renowned for their expertise in assay development.

The HNL Assay represents a ground-breaking development in the field of diagnostics, offering a proven approach to distinguishing between viral and bacterial infections. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Microbiology describes how the assay utilizes “a proprietary combination of antibodies to simultaneously detect and quantify the levels of host proteins, bacterial antigens, and viral nucleic acids in patient samples.”1

This innovative technology enables healthcare professionals to identify the underlying cause of an infection rapidly and accurately, facilitating more targeted and effective treatment strategies. By providing actionable insights into the specific pathogen

responsible for the infection, the HNL Assay has the potential to significantly improve patient outcomes and reduce the misuse of antibiotics, helping to combat the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance.

By leveraging the strengths of each partner, AgPlus is poised to accelerate the development process and bring the Agilis Platform to market. Suvir’s leadership and strategic vision will be instrumental in driving this initiative forward, ensuring that AgPlus remains at the forefront of innovation in diagnostics.

Suvir Venkataraman’s appointment as Chief Development Officer marks an exciting new chapter for AgPlus Diagnostics.

“We are thrilled to welcome Suvir Venkataraman to the AgPlus team. His exceptional expertise and passion for innovation aligns perfectly with our commitment to revolutionise the field of diagnostics. Suvir’s leadership will undoubtedly propel our development efforts forward as we continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in healthcare. We are excited to embark on this journey together and look forward to the transformative impact we will now make.” Christopher Getley, Chairman of AgPlus Diagnostics.
