First in our 'Meet the Team' series is Dave Yallop, our Director of Manufacturing and Operations.
A Bit About Dave
Dave has forty years of experience working in the highly regulated medical device sector with large OEM Drug delivery companies. He is an engineer by training who moved over to the dark side of operations management early on in his management career.
Since then Dave has developed a reputation as an effective team builder with a strong emphasis on using Lean Six Sigma.
Dave is an experienced Director of Manufacturing with a track record of delivery in the highly regulated medical device sector. He is skilled in ISO 13485, 9000, 18001 & 14001, Operations Management, Medical Devices, Management and Continuous Improvement. Dave is a strong engineering professional with a Master's degree in Manufacturing Management & Technology; a huge asset to our team!

Company Role
As the Head of Manufacturing, I am responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of manufacturing and operational scale up activities in support of AgPlus Diagnostics drive to deliver manufacturing programs for key clients. Providing manufacturing leadership to transition the company’s in vitro diagnostic device from the prototype and development phase through to full commercialization. Developing manufacturing infrastructure from the ground up.
Starting with aG+
My route to Ag+ was via a personal referral from the previous role holder who was moving on to a much bigger role with an international drug delivery company. Having worked with Stafford before he already knew my skills set and was more than happy to affect an initial introduction to the team here at Ag+.
Best part of the job
Collaborating with a small team of dedicated scientist all focused on delivering he best possible outcome for our key stakeholders. The challenges and variety that come with working in such a team is refreshing and energizing.
The year ahead
2020 is set to herald some of the biggest changes in the development of the company with the arrival of the second-generation readers and cartridges next year will see us pushing on with the transfer from R&D into full blown manufacturing. With three or four assays ready to scale up we will have our hands full designing equipment, developing processes, training and recruiting additional personnel in order for the team to deliver.
In addition to all this 2020 will see the business outgrow its current facilities and move off into a new purpose-built facility, the first intermediate manufacturing facility within the grounds of Cosworth Park.
Challenging for any team, one thing for sure 2020 will be a pivotal year for Ag+.
