December: 2020 CEO Review

An update from AgPlus Diagnostics CEO Fiona Marshall:

As 2020 draws to a close and we reflect on the fact that it has been an exciting and challenging year for AgPlus and as we look towards 2021 it is a good time to review what we have achieved.

While lots of businesses have struggled to remain operational through the COVID-19 pandemic, it is down to the determination of our small team that we managed to remain open and we were successful in winning over £400K of grant money from Innovate, UKRI and DASA. This allowed us to use our innovative technology in the development of diagnostics for monitoring the immune response to COVID and infection status of patients. We have also been successful with the continued support of our shareholders in conjunction with the Future Fund and continuity grants support from our UKI2S/Innovate grant that we won in late 2019. All this support and hard work has allowed us to continue with the development of our Agilis ™ Platform.

We have made excellent progress with the development of our Reader and cartridge with pre-production readers under test in the laboratory and our cartridge is in routine manufacture to house our electrochemistry assays. The assay development is going extremely well and we have at least 2 assays ready to go through product registration in early 2021.

The Team at AgPlus have adapted their working environment to maintain the social distancing required, and while this is challenging it has allowed us to continue with existing projects and indeed start lots of new exciting projects. We have not been able to have as many face to face meetings with our partners and key suppliers but, I’m sure like everyone else, we have become very proficient at Zoom/Teams/Google hangouts and WEBEX meetings!!

We would like to take this time to thank all our Partners and Suppliers and wish you all a Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for 2021. We look forward to continuing our work with you all throughout 2021 to realise the potential of our Agilis™ platform as a commercial Point of Care product.

Thank you for taking the time to read this month’s update. I hope you enjoyed it and please do let me know if you have any further questions or would like to collaborate with AgPlus.

Stay Safe
