Development and Manufacture of Our Diagnostic Reader with Key Partner STI

STI WebsiteHere at Ag Plus we are working hard on the continuous development of our Agilis™ reader to work in conjunction with our proven assay development service.

Our mission is to be recognised as a market leader in innovative Point of Care diagnosis, matching each patient’s critical condition to the right treatment at the right time. Our most recent joint project is a diagnostic test to determine bacterial versus a viral infection. Antibiotic resistance is a major problem globally, with over 50% of antibiotics being mis-prescribed. This test will support the correct diagnosis of disease and treatment with antibiotics which will have a hugely positive impact on their use worldwide.

With the help of key partner STI, we will deliver a rapid, ultra-sensitive, fully quantitative POC testing system that will have a wide range of uses both within clinical and non-clinical applications.

Surface Technology International (STI) is a specialist contract electronics manufacturer that specialises in the Aerospace, Defence and Security sectors as well as Energy, Healthcare & Communications. They provide a full set of manufacturing services, from concept design, prototyping and production through to complete box build.

Since the beginning of our relationship, and throughout this project we have been impressed with STI’s innovative approach to finding solutions which in turn has meant the progress towards the prototypes of our Agilis™ reader has been faster than anticipated. We are currently on track to receive our first prototypes next month for our clinical verification studies and are aiming, with the help of STI, to get our first of industrial designs and design for manufacture pack ready by the end of the year.

“This is an exciting project that will have a huge impact for healthcare systems, patient treatments and their lives in the near future. As a business we are delighted to be working with STI as our key partner to deliver the Agilis™ reader.”
